25... to be continued
This year is our silver jubilee.
Since opening in 1987, the Adelaide Convention Centre has continued to set the benchmark for the rest of the country – and, indeed many other countries – to follow.
"We've attracted and successfully hosted some especially prestigious and internationally significant conferences and events – and in doing so have helped shine the spotlight on the very best of Adelaide and South Australia". Alec Gilbert, Chief Executive, Adelaide Convention Centre
"The Centre has been a catalyst for the explosion of business tourism in South Australia and brought people here who’ve made a valuable contribution to the State’s economic development". Jane Jeffreys, Chairman, Adelaide Convention Centre
In a quarter of a century, the Centre has never faltered and continues to lead.
In that time, it has delivered more than $1 billion to the South Australian economy – and the next $1 billion will come even faster once the expanded centre is complete.
The $350 million expansion is already well underway and is scheduled for full completion in mid-2017.
“The multibillion dollar development project is a game changing project which will see the picturesque River Torrens and Elder Park area transformed, into a vibrant hub of activity for both locals and visitors”. Hon Gail Gago MLC, Minister for Tourism
Over the years, the Centre has helped to create many fond memories for its visitors, local and international, and we’ve put together a few highlights to share with you in the video below.
The success story of the Adelaide Convention Centre is most definitely “to be continued…”
Minister for Urban Development, Planning and the City of Adelaide
As well as allowing the centre to host much larger conferences and more of them, these remarkable buildings will help to establish a stunning visual identity for Adelaide.
